Nurses care for the elderly

Growth is something that we can’t change and must be faced by everyone. We have growing population in terms of age. This is why the nurse’s service is very much needed by the world.
Nurses know that there is different care that should be provided in different kinds of patients. Elderly Care is one of the special cares that must be given well to elders or to senior citizen. The care encompasses the assistance in everyday living of the elder adult. This is one of the faces of nursing that are difficult to bear. You need to be in the side of the patient in the times that he/she is almost losing his/her sights, hearing and his/her strength. This is especially difficult of the elder patient have a disease that makes him/her vulnerable. Elders are not easy to deal with as they are vulnerable in many aspects. You need to be a good nurse so you can give the best care for your elder patient.
This requires the virtue of patience. This is an everyday challenge for the nurse to take good care of the elder patient. An older patient is getting difficult to deal with every passing day. Though the elderly care may vary in terms of the condition of the elder. This includes the age of the patient and what are the present diseases that the elder is facing.
The elder care as mentioned above is giving assistance to the daily activities of the elderly. This includes giving food, helping him to get out of bed, taking a bath, and until he/she went unto his/her sleep.
As someone grows older sickness and ailments is something that is likely to follow. Respiratory disease, broken limb, side effects of medicine and many others are one of the examples. Extra care must be given in this kind of instances.
Elder care is indeed one of the important parts of nursing that is important in the industry. This must be understood well by future nurses. This is also the reason why we have Geriatric Nursing which is the study of care for elderly.
What is Emergency Nursing?

Emergency Nursing is an area of nursing where in rapid actions and assessments are needed. In this part of nursing every second is valuable. The first phase of this field is really crucial and important. Emergency nurses needs to have a good skill and should have a good ability to make the right decision quickly. This is one of the specialties of nursing profession.
The emergency nurse needs to have knowledge in general and specific terms. Lots of diseases will be faced in here. The kind of illness may variety form one kind to another. This may include different simple injury problem or may range in a serious heart attack problem.
The role of an emergency nurse may vary with the different kind of situation. They can give care unto the patient in urgent situation like in ambulances, sport fields, health care center and many others. Other role that an emergency nurse can fulfill is the role of an educator. They can give education and awareness even outside the community.
There are no specific specialization when it comes to emergency nursing. Nevertheless, the usual situation that they are facing includes the problem in trauma, and injury prevention.
Any registered nurse can be an emergency nurse. They just need specific certificate or seminars about trauma nursing, pediatric nursing, and other seminars that concerns injury prevention. They also need to have a good experience when it comes to caring emergency patients. They also need to undergo continuous education to be up to date. They need to be informed about the latest trends in emergency nursing. This is especially important as there are lots of new procedures that are introduced to nursing profession. It may help them to be better in taking good care of their emergency patients.
Pediatric nurse: A challenging and rewarding job

It is true that the field of medicine is one of the most important fields in the industry. The work inside it is really stressful at times but can be really rewarding. This can be really stressful because this is where the real life and death choices are happening. But if you are a nurse and you have experience a chance where in you have saved life then I bet you know hoe rewarding it is.
Within the field of nursing there is a challenging profession that is often overlooked and this is the pediatric nursing. This is the profession where in you need to have patience and dedication in every crying child that you will carry in your arms. You will be exposed to child that is crying hard because of the pain he is going trough. This is really heartbreaking most of the time. If you are a pediatric nurse you will be more exposed to problematic children and not to those who are fine and joyful.
Most of the time you also need to deal with the relatives of the patient or with the parents of the child. This is very much important in the recovery of the child. You should be reminded that the improvement of the child will also depend on the care that he receives from you and to his family.
In this profession you also need to give much attention on the approaches that you will give to a child. There are various approaches since it may differ depending on the age bracket where in the child belongs.
What you need to put in your mind before you consider this as your profession is that you should a great desire to take good care of children. Having a smile from a kid because of the care you have shown is very worthwhile.
june 2009 nursing board exam result

I am sure many of the june 2009 nursing board exam taker is now getting excited and feel nervous what will be the result, if they pass or not?
According to what I heard the result of the june 2009 nursing board exam in the Philippines is expected to be release last week of July or first week of August.
Actually I am also excited with the result of the past exam because my sister is also one of those taker. I hope she will pass the exam.
BTW, I have subscribe to different sites, fellow bloggers, and fellow webmasters feeds to get updated immediately when the exam result release.
