The thing is that you need to concentrate on your patients feeling and not with your feeling of course. Listen to what your patient is saying and try to comprehend and clarify his thoughts. Avoid being judgmental as well. They will know if you understand them. Eye contact is also needed. Be reminded that giving advices to your client is also not advisable.
Nursing profession focuses on giving care for the patient. But being too attached is not advisable. This is the life of nurses, give care, patience, and love but don’t get yourself too involve.
